Hello, my name is Danielle Wunschel and I am so excited to be joining such an amazing team and community! I have worked in outpatient pediatrics for 8 years honing my skills in sensory integration, trauma-based intervention, executive functioning, strength and endurance training, and youth mentorship/ empowerment. I believe that to be the best therapist you can be you have to pull pieces of yourself into your treatments while making them as client-centered as possible. I personally love rock climbing, longboarding, running, yoga and meditation, obstacle course racing, soccer, hiking, weightlifting, kayaking, swimming, carpentry, art, and journaling. I have used all these mediums as tools in therapy. In addition to this, my kids have taught me some amazing things and I have had the chance to make so many fun themed sessions. From Star Wars to Paw Patrol to imaginary rescue missions, it has been truly amazing to see kids thrive when therapy doesn’t feel like therapy!

One piece of my past I am really proud of creating groups for teens such as weightlifting, obstacle course camps, and outdoor survival skills. When I found Your True Self OT, it was like a dream come true as Mike holds a lot of the same core values as myself. At the end of the day, what matters most is my clients seeing that they are not alone, that they can do anything they set their mind to, and that different abilities just mean finding a creative way at working towards their dreams! "

It is such an honor to be able to work for this miraculous team and I look forward to working with parents and clients and benefiting the lives of children through aquatic and recreational therapeutic strategies. I am a firm believer that swimming is so much more than swimming, that our strength and confidence develop through our experiences in the water and collaborating with each other. I look forward to working with you and supporting you in any way that I can.
